Milford Miami Ministry – 2018 Community Impact Report Who We Are: Milford Miami Ministry is a Christian, humanitarian 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization comprised of 21 Milford-area churches collaborating to help children, families, and our community reach their full potential by tackling poverty. Since 1996, Milford Miami Ministry has served the poor and the oppressed regardless of a person’s religion, race, ethnicity or gender. Mission Statement: Through the affirmation of our faith in Jesus Christ, we will act in love as the hands and feet of our Lord and Savior, seeking to provide service and support to members of our community in their time of need.
Who We Serve: Residents of Miami Township and the City of Milford, Ohio, in Clermont County. The population of Miami Township is 40,848 and the City of Milford is home to 6,709 people residents. What We Do: Milford Miami Ministry offers two community-based programs: A community food pantry and an emergency financial assistance program. • Food pantry: Families living in the Milford/Miami Township area are eligible to visit the food pantry every 30 days. A family of 4 (the average size family seeking assistance) receives about 45 lbs. of food per visit, equal to about 45 meals. In addition to non-perishables (e.g., soap, paper goods), each family receives 1/2 gallon of milk, 1 dozen eggs, a meat item, and bread/baked goods. Families can also receive cleaning and personal care items. Shopping in the 425 square-foot pantry takes about 10-15 minutes • Emergency financial assistance: Helps families that struggle to pay rent, utilities, or prescription medicines avoid eviction or having essential utilities disconnected. Milford and Miami Township residents provide documentation of need, such as a disconnect notice from the utility company or notice to leave the premises from their landlord. The amount of assistance is determined by the client’s need and funds available at the time of the request. Milford Miami Ministry also conducts holiday food and gift drives and collects book bags and school supplies for children attending Milford Exempted Village School District schools. 2018 Community Impact • Food pantry: Provided 92,970 meals to 2,066 families consisting of 7,124 people, including 2,962 children.
